Perception & Experience
There is so much bullshit advice, supplements, keys to longevity out there….as a common person who or what should you believe? Don’t just believe something because you hear it somewhere. Research it and go off your own experience. If anyone tells you that research is more valuable than your own experience then they don’t know exactly how research works.
Research is important but the interpretation of it is even more valuable. In the longevity world it is full of studies that generalize. They give you the average or use very small sample sizes…pulling from small groups of people. Your experience isn’t everything but it matters. Your perception may not be accurate but your experience is. Meaning you can’t always trust your feelings but you can trust the tests that you put your body through.
For some things like pain, that have subjective measures, your feelings matter a bit more. You may feel like a particular protocol helped your pain…if you feel that way then it did! Because we cannot measure pain in any other way than your own feelings.
I rely very heavily on general perception of specific protocols to see if it worked. If there is universally a similar perception that something worked I will look into it and see if it is something that would work for me.
That is why results are important to me!
