Sustainable Fitness.

I get to watch tons of people every day jumping from one thing to the next.

Triathlon. Running. Weightlifting. Yoga. New Exercise X. Bulletproofing the body. Movement specialist. Pilates. Fitness Classes. Boxing.

They are all in search of the thing. So what is the thing?

The thing that everyone searches for in fitness. Something that is going to fix the body’s problems.

When running eventually hurts them. They rehab and start lifting. When lifting hurts them they turn to yoga. When yoga doesn’t do it they turn to movement culture. Then the cycle repeats. They are looking for the edge.

Each new thing brings a dopamine boost. So that’s part of it. But it’s all empty promises. Empty promises empty solutions. ALL HYPE. No results.

Most people can’t survive bodybuilding without destroying their body or using drugs. Most people will develop hypermobile joints from copious yoga poses. While movement culture has better intent it still misses the point. We are human. We have to train like humans.

But we see this cycle repeatedly. Even in micro-cosms. When Deadlifting hurts, we squat. When squatting hurts, we use our arms. When we have knee pain, we revert to swimming. When running hurts, we cycle. It’s a cycle. But none of these things reflect how humans move. So, when moving like a human (horizontally) hurts and begins to not pan out, we go to weightlifting (vertical).

Most of these things can be done but they have to do be done in 10-20% of what we do not ALL we do.

Human’s made to stand, run, sprint, and throw. This is the foundation. Once we can move here we can develop other skills.

Not only do we need to do these things but we have to regain the ability to do so properly.

We have to isolate the issues and integrate them within the system.

Forward Momentum is the foundational North Star for us to learn proper movement and stay injury free.

None of your solutions so far have shown you any results to maximize your performance or destroy pain.

DARE to try something that just may be the last solution you need.
